Join the Fun for the 9th Annual Race for Traditions

Same race, expanded mission! Sponsored by Expresspark, Inc. and Kensey Nash Benefitting Mommy’s Light and Daddy’s Light Mommy’s Light has some exciting news to share with our Eagleview community! After the successful launch of our Daddy’s Light pilot program, we are officially expanding the scope of our Tradition Fulfillment services to include children whose fathers have died, bringing the number of kids eligible for our program to more than two million. These young people are at significantly greater risk for psychological and behavioral problems than others, and our program can help them move from survivors to thrivers. We thank our Eagleview community for helping to make this possible.

We are excited to celebrate our expanded services at our 9th Annual Race for Traditions sponsored by Expresspark, Inc. and Kensey Nash on April 27, 2013 right here in Eagleview. Downingtown resident Hillary DeLone founded the race shortly after her recovery from breast cancer because she wanted to give back to her community and support grieving children and their families. Hillary’s legacy continues to thrive, as the race has become an annual family and community tradition. Families who cheered on their toddlers in the Tot Trot during the race’s early years are now running side-by-side with them in the 5K.

What keeps families coming back each year is the spirit behind the race and what our mission is all about – celebrating  family life. Carolyn Clement, who attended the race with her family for the first time last year, expresses this spirit: “I came across the 5K race for Mommy’s Light and it quickly opened my eyes to what’s really important in life. The whole experience was so positive and uplifting. I hope to find other ways to help Mommy’s Light.”

This year, race participants can rally friends, family and co-workers to raise additional funds through our new team and individual fundraising programs. To learn about these programs, or about corporate sponsorship opportunities, please e-mail Kristin Walton at Race day will include fun-filled activities for everyone. In addition to the 5K and 1 Mile Run, there will be a Tot Trot, children’s concert, dog agility exhibition, complimentary hot breakfast for registered race participants courtesy of the Brickside Grille, and more.
